Professor Irina Panovska-Stavridis

Professor Irina Panovska-Stavridis is Medical Director of the University Clinic of hematology-Skopje which is the only institution of this kind in the Republic of Macedonia that offers medical care for all patients with malignant and nonmalignant hematological diseases. Prof.Panovska-Stavrdis graduated from the Medical Faculty in Skopje in1995 and since 1996 has been working at the University Clinic of hematology-Skopje. She is specialist of internal medicine and subspecialist hematologist. She has been trained in UK, USA, Greece and Hungary. She participated in many clinical trials as study coordinator and authored and coauthored numerous professional papers, reviews and book chapters. Prof. Panovska-Stavridis is a member of many eminent world societies for hematology and stem cell transplantation  and  is appointed as ambassador for Macedonia by the Society of Hemato-Oncology (SOHO).

Ass.Prof dr Aleksandra Pivkova Veljanovska

Ass.Prof dr Aleksandra Pivkova Veljanovska MD, PhD Ass. Prof. Dr. Aleksandra Pivkova Veljanovska was born in 1976 in Skopje, Macedonia. She graduated from the Medical Faculty in Skopje in 2000 and has been working at the University Clinic for Hematology in Skopje since 2001. During this years she has developed a career of specialist of internal medicine and subspecialist in hematology. She was trained in Germany and Greece for cryopreservation of stem cells and bone marrow transplantation procedures. Her main interest and success is in the field of stem cell transplantation. In 2007 she was a head of Cryopreservation Department at the University Clinic for Hematology in Skopje.  She has been holding a position of head of the Bone Marrow Transplantation Unit at University Clinic for Hematology in Skopje since 2018. Ass. Prof. Dr. Aleksandra Pivkova Veljanovska is a member of almost all eminent world societies for hematology and stem cell transplantation (EBMT, SOHO), besides being an active member of the domestic hematological societies and the chamber of medicine. She participated in many clinical trials as study coordinator and authored and coauthored numerous publications in the field of stem cell transplantation. 

Professor Aleksandar Petlichkovski

Professor Aleksandar Petlichkovski is head of the Institute for Immunobiology and Human Genetics at the Medical Faculty in Skopje He graduated from the Medical Faculty in Skopje in 1996 and currently holds position as professor in genetics. He has been trained in Bulgaria, Italy and USA, in the field of immunology and genetics. His research interest is mostly focused on immunogenetics and different immunological response in different individuals. D-r Petlichkovski has authored and coauthored more than 100 scientific articles and book chapters. He is a member of many national and international professional societies dealing with immunology, genetics, and transplantation.

The workshop is organized on the occasion of the 500 performed bone marrow transplantation and the first adult and childhood matched unrelated donor transplantation performed at the University Clinic of hematology-Skopje Republic of North Macedonia.
