PATRON

Dr. Venko Filipce is born in Skopje, North Macedonia, professor of medical sciences at the University "St. Cyril and Methodius", Faculty of Medicine in Skopje. He graduated at the Medical Faculty in Skopje in 2001, and in 2004 he was elected an assistant at the Faculty. He completed his specialization in neurosurgery in 2008. He holds a master's degree in neurosurgery from 2011 and then a doctorate in 2015.

In December 2017, Dr. Venko Filipce was appointed as a Minister of Health of the Republic of Northern Macedonia.

During his career, Dr. Venko Filipce constantly upgrades certain areas of medicine in the neurosurgical centers in Graz, Belgrade, Dayton, Columbus, Istanbul, Zurich.

Dr. Filipce was Secretary of the Macedonian Neurosurgery Association, as well as a member of the executive committee of the Association of Neurosurgeons of Southeast Europe, and in 2016 organized the Macedonian-Japanese Neurovascular Conference.
In 2012, he completed a specialization in interventional neuroradiology in Zurich, becoming the first neurosurgeon in Northern Macedonia and neighboring countries to establish hybrid neurosurgery at the main clinic in Skopje. He is the author of many publications in domestic and foreign journals in the field of Neurosurgery.

From June to December 2017 he was an external advisor to the Prime Minister, with expertise in the field of health care.
